Los Angeles is a good place to go, because of all the famous folks and the producers and the venues (you'll shit yourself the first time you play at the Whiskey A-Go-Go or the Roxy). However, it's a BAD place to go because of all the other up-and-comers who think that LA is a good place to go. The larger the crowd, the harder it is to get noticed.
But I would love to have you out here :) You just gotta weigh your options.

Here's what I really think:

the weather = heaven. in most parts (not in the city) it's like 70 to 75 degrees in the day and in the 50's at night.
i guess you're going for school? i dunno.
plus, it's LA for pete's sake. you don't see cowboy hats and boots everywhere you go. well, unless you're in the middle of a gay parade.
